::sigh::  Seriously, look how sweet.  Newborn sessions are long because they are in charge.  If they need a break to eat, fall back to sleep, rock, wiggle, you give it to them and you take your time.  And when you do, you can capture precious moments such as these.  Congratulations on your birth, little guy!

 His grandmother was my trusty assistant, for whom I was very grateful.  This was one of my most favorite images from the whole session.  He knows already that she is someone special and dear.

Newborn Baby C {Layton, Utah Newborn Photographer}

I had the privilege to meet this 6 day old newborn and what a good sport he was for his photoshoot!  There is something about a brand new baby that makes me feel so close to heaven.

His Mama has decorated his room with a "Where the Wild Things Are" theme.

Mom, Dad, Daughter, and One on the Way! {Layton, Utah Family Photographer}

This session was memorable because of the small miracle, or tender mercy of this little one.  Mom and Dad lamented how their little one, Maya has never smiled for family pictures.  In fact, they had a session not too long ago and have not framed a single image because it just makes them sad to look at the photos.  So that was the goal - capture Maya's smile.  Armed with a squeaky parrot puppet, a ribbeting frog puppet, 2 silly cousins, and 2 equally silly grandparents, we arrived at our location prepared.  
Braving the Utah cold was worth it for this Arizona family because look at Maya's beautiful little smile!
